1972. It is four years since Martha Ryan’s world crashed around her. Fleeing to England, she left everything behind. Her beloved seaside town of Rivers End, her big sister, Dorothy, and the one man she loves beyond reason.

She finds a new home in Ireland. A place so like her childhood home. There, she buys a cottage, embarking on a career as a teacher in the small town, and travelling the world every year. She finds friendships, relationships, and adventures.

But dreams haunt her. Deep down, she longs for her home town in Australia, and to see Dorothy. Will a life well lived be enough, or is one letter the turning point to risk everything she’s come to love?

'Martha' is a short companion story covering fifty years in about sixty pages. Best read after The Stationmaster's Cottage (or later Rivers End books).

A feel good story!

Martha is a feisty rich girl, never wanted for anything but is frustrated and ambitious. She meets Thomas and wow! Will love prevail against all the odds, particularly Martha's mother!!
I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Loving the Rivers End series. More of Christie and Martin and adorable dog, Randall plus many of the characters we met and loved in the first book. The story is a twisty page-turner, beautifully crafted by the author. I'd like to visit Rivers end.
